Pass through incense smoke to cleanse each
(While stating that you are cleansing off any accumulated energies, any negativity,any impurities etc)

Pray psalms 23x3 over the items

Then add your breathe to the item(breathe into it)like 3 breathe

You can leave it in the sun or full moon for recharge. 6-24hrs

After which you bring it in and activate it by speaking directly into it(close to your mouth)
Speak the protection you want it to be doing for you and the energies to attract etc.) 
Once done repeat the 3 breathe, psalms 23.
Ready for usage

Cleanse every month same way, to remove accumulated energies, then proceed to charge in sun or moon, then activate ,then wear .

U can also keep it on your prayer Altar for a couple of days before usage after the sun/moon charging.

Dnt use salt water it will spoil the strings used ,they will break easily or loosen.

Also, if these spiritually set/ fixed  conduits of energy are filled up, you release the energy by cleansing, they are usually more active after an argument, an occurrence that requires a lot of energy, any firm of negativity, they are actively fighting through to shield you from that, now what happens to the energy it collects or stores? It remains within unless you clear it and then it is released back to source/ earth.

How do you release it? A cleanse after each occurrence,after each experience, even sickness! For instance, a black Tourmaline necklace will particularly feel heavy after an ailment, negativity because it is protection,it worked extra hard through that, release that built up energy, fix the intent again,as good as new.
When you do not do these things often, your energy crystal conduit may just break from nowhere, it's work is done, it has served its purpose,it is overwhelmed.
So do your best to clear energy build up by offering constant cleanse, recharge and programming.
When you no longer need it at a certain point in your life, it may just disappear, cut, or break ...  crystals do that. If it disappears, someone close to you or even without your knowledge may need it more than you do at that point in time, so it's a lost in your end ,but a good find on another end .
